Technical Asset Manager BESS

About the role

Take technical ownership of our battery storage assets, from 200 kWh cabinets to 100 MW containers, and keep them safe, available and performing.

Green Teams Europe Maintenance manages 200+ renewable assets with 24/7 monitoring, and is now expanding into Battery Energy Storage Systems: from 200 kWh cabinets to 5–100 MW containers. As Technical Asset Manager BESS you hold the technical ownership of these systems throughout their operational phase. You translate what happens in the field and in the data into maintenance plans, technical decisions and clear advice for our clients.

What you’ll do

Intake & technical assurance

• Carry out the technical intake of new BESS assets: as-built documentation, configuration and critical components
• Record the technical baselines (capacity, efficiency, state of health) and the risks

Maintenance strategy & safety

• Set up maintenance programmes per system: preventive, corrective and condition-based
• Set up monitoring procedures and write SOPs for incident response and safety
• Safeguard safe working practices including LOTO and HV/DC safety per NEN 3140 / 3840

Failures & root-cause analysis

• Assess alarms and failures, and prioritise them on risk, impact and contract
• Analyse failures and run root-cause analyses across BMS, EMS, PCS and battery technology
• Direct internal and external technical teams and suppliers on the technical substance

Performance & degradation

• Optimise asset performance on availability, efficiency and degradation
• Track state of health against warranty and contract terms
• Advise on upgrades, retrofits and replacements

Clients & proposals

• Be the technical point of contact for our clients: you explain performance, failures and solutions
• Work out and calculate repairs, replacements and upgrades, and draw up quotations

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

• HBO/university degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering, Data Communication or equivalent
• 2+ years in a role involving electrical engineering or data communication; BESS experience is not required
• Strong in root-cause analysis: you turn data into concrete actions and explain the technology clearly to clients

Nice to have

• BESS or energy-storage experience, ideally in the operational phase
• Background at a BESS developer, OEM, EPC or O&M provider
• Experience with SCADA, EMS or technical monitoring
• Experience with OEM warranties and long-term service agreements
• Grid-services knowledge (FCR, aFRR, peak shaving)
• NEN 3140 certification (VP level)
• NEN 3840 certification
• Werkverantwoordelijke (WV) or Installatieverantwoordelijke (IV) experience
• Large-scale systems (>1 MW)
