Work Preparation Engineer PV & BESS

About the role

Make sure every PV and BESS project runs safely, efficiently and right on schedule.

You play a key role in the maintenance and repair of PV installations and BESS systems: building work packages and calculations and solving technical questions, as the link between planning, execution and external partners.

What you’ll do

Work preparation (PV & BESS)

• Build complete work packages (scope, work description, LOTO, materials, hours, planning)
• Gather and process missing project information
• Coordinate with planning, monitoring, field teams and suppliers
• Make sure projects are fully “ready to execute”

Coordination & communication

• Proactively align with internal teams to prevent delays
• Communicate priorities and required capacity clearly
• Steer suppliers and subcontractors on quality, timing and scope
• Manage technical escalations with clear reasoning

Calculation & quotations

• Draw up cost calculations (hours, materials, equipment, third parties)
• Work out quotations based on realistic pricing and post-calculations
• Align with execution for feasible, accurate offers
• Contribute to profitable choices with commercial insight

Scope 12 repair & standardisation

• Translate Scope 12 reports into concrete repair packages
• Develop templates and standard solutions
• Safeguard quality through handover dossiers and documentation

What we’re looking for

• MBO+/HBO working and thinking level (preferably Electrical or Energy engineering, or similar)
• Experience in PV (solar) O&M, work preparation, service or commissioning
• Affinity with BESS and electrotechnical safety
• Experience with suppliers, subcontractors and field engineers
• Strong in structure, planning and technical analysis
• Proactive, communicative, hands-on, and quality- and safety-conscious (LOTO a plus)
